If you love Cold Stone Creamery‘s sweet creations, you’ll love that you can now grab one as a drink at convenience stores in Japan!

Those who are fond of sweets (like this writer) may be familiar with the delightful ice cream treats offered by Cold Stone Creamery. The American ice cream parlor chain has made its name known in Japan with the singing dessert-creating gigs performed by the staff, and of course the wide variety of delicious and creative desserts it offers.

Now, to the delight of sweets lovers across Japan, Cold Stone Creamery will be offering one of their most popular ice cream desserts as a drink. And the best part? You’ll be able to grab it at a convenience store!

Cold Stone Creamery’s popular “Strawberry Shortcake Serenade” will be available as a “drinkable sweet” at the Lawson convenience store chain.

To recreate the taste of the dessert, they’ve made the drink rich and milky, and added strawberries, sponge cake, and whipped cream to achieve a flavor and texture similar to the sponge cake used in the actual item. What’s more, you can shake the drink to change its consistency and make it lighter and fluffier the more you shake.

Seeing as Japan seems to love its drinkable desserts, this should be a welcome addition to the country’s sweet drink market.

The Strawberry Shortcake Serenade drink will be on sale at Lawson stores across Japan starting December 11 at a price of 248 yen (US$2.20) for a 200-gram (seven ounce) cup. If you’re craving some ice cream sweetness but can’t get to a Cold Stone Creamery location in Japan this winter, this could be a tasty alternative!
