There are quite a few things that only Japan could pull off and half-human half-anime idol Anna Amemiya is one of them.

The 22-year-old made her debut as a “2.5-D” gravure idol back in 2010 after being signed to Excel Human Agency. She released her first DVD in December of the same year and even has her own daikmakura pillow cover.

While the lack of any new videos or photo shoots since then suggests that her debut DVD achieved less-than-desirable sales, Anna has recently updated her blog after nearly a year of silence, announcing that she will make her debut as an actress in the upcoming theatrical version of “Venus Fantasista,” a Japanese mobile game about a ragtag group of beautiful girls who form a soccer team.

The show is running until September at the Akasaka Red Theater. Anna plays the role of team member Moka Nishimura and should be easy to pick out since she wears her trademark anime mask even while on stage.

And if you can’t make it out to Tokyo, we’ve put together a collection of Anna’s best for your viewing pleasure:
