We’re not new to the combination of weddings and doves. Many couples fancy adding a romantic touch to their special day by releasing doves. To most of us, the white birds symbolize love and peace. But to some others, they simply mean: FREE FOOD!

A Chinese couple released close to a hundred doves after their wedding photography session, but little did they expect to attract a bird hunting crowd!

Eager to capture extra romantic wedding shots, the soon-to-be-wed couple bought the symbolic birds as “props” for their photo shoot at the Hefei Swan Lake in Anhui province, China. At the end of the session, they set the birds free, but that freedom didn’t last long. As soon as the photography crew had left the site, a dove-catching frenzy promptly broke out, with one of the bird-catchers commenting that those were edible fowl.
