Look! It’s a bird! It’s a truck! It’s a…suitcase?!

Yup, you may have to do a double take at the picture above, because that is indeed a man riding a suitcase down the road. As bizarre as it sounds, this guy apparently spent 10 years perfecting his hot new wheels. He won’t be winning any speed contests soon, but you have to compliment his originality. More pictures of his suitcase vehicles after the jump!

An unidentified man from Hunan Province, China has reportedly spent the last 10 years perfecting a new sensational mode of transportation–rideable suitcases! While the maximum speed of the suitcases is only 20 km/h (12.4 mph), you have to admit, that would still make a welcome ride on a typically boring walk to work. To top it off, they can run for 50-60 kilometers (31-37 miles) on a single charge.

▼Looks like the cops are getting in on the fun, too

▼There’s even a GPS attached, so you don’t have to awkwardly stop at the gas station on your suitcase to ask for directions.

While the inventor himself is undoubtedly having a good laugh as he zips past all the rush-hour traffic, we just hope that no one in the middle of driving gets distracted by the unusual sight and causes an accident.

What’s your initial reaction after seeing these photos? Here are some reactions from Japan:

“I laughed at the pointlessness of it.”

“I kinda want one…”

“If it were Japan, he would get busted under the Road Traffic Law.”

“Can you actually put luggage inside??”

>>”Nah, the inside is probably packed with batteries.”

“The guy should wear a helmet.”

Do our readers have any good naming ideas for this unusual new style of transportation? Something as awesomely random as this deserves a more interesting name than “suitcase-mobile”!  Let us know your ideas in the comments section below.
