If you are into Japanese action video games for the PSP or PlayStation, you might be familiar with the popular series God Eater from Japanese game maker Bandai Namco. It was announced during the Tokyo Game Show in September 2014 that the game will be adapted into anime, and now fans finally have a date to look forward to as the series is officially slated for release in Summer 2015!

The release date for God Eater anime was announced during a Niconico live stream of a fifth anniversary event for the game series which featured a stellar cast of singer May J, who sang the ending theme to the latest game in the series, as well as voice actresses Kanae Ito and Chiaki Omigawa, who voice God Eater characters Hibari Takeda and Licca Kusunoki respectively.


The game will be produced by the production studio ufotable. Leading the production will be director Takayuki Hirao, while composer Go Shiina of The Idolmaster and Tears of Zestiria fame will provide music for the anime.
