Late-nineties roleplaying game SaGa Frontier may have had mixed reviews in North America, where critics slammed its non-linear gameplay as lacking in focus, but the game was a huge success in Japan.

And 17 years on from the game’s original release, one Japanese fan has finally achieved her lifelong dream of recreating the dress of Princess White Rose (aka Shirobara Hime), and she’s got the pictures to prove it!

Wedding dress designer and seamstress alpha loves to make cosplay outfits in her spare time.  As an elementary school student, when she first saw the characters from Saga Frontier, she vowed to herself that one day she would make Princess White Rose’s elaborate iconic outfit a reality. Seventeen years later, she’s finally achieved that aim!

From the floral headpiece (artificial flowers, in case you were about to ask), to the beautifully detailed bodice, right down to the subtle yellow and blue coloring of the boots, this is truly a labour of love.

Incidentally, here’s what Princess White Rose looked like in the character design for the original game:

Should’ve called her Princess Yellow Rose, really. We think we prefer alpha’s real-life version!
