If you have even a passing interest in Japanese pop culture, you’re probably aware that Neon Genesis Evangelion has been a long-standing hit anime series with a huge fan base. It’s been 18 years since it originally finished airing on TV, but the anime still has a strong following, with many female fans. Now, Japanese travel agency Musee Travel has come up with the perfect break from reality for such female Evangelion lovers — the “Evangelion Hakone Trip for Girls“!

Yes, it’s a one-night, Evangelion-themed bus trip for women, and it comes with many bonuses sure to delight fans. You get to tour around Hakone, the area where the fictional city Tokyo-3 was located in the anime, and on a chartered bus too, so you can get to visit even hard-to-reach sites related to the story and also see the Evangelion vending machines famous among “Eva” enthusiasts, all without having to worry about transport!

But that’s not all. You’ll enjoy a special lunch with original Evangelion dishes and then stay at the Palace Hotel Hakone where you can relax in one of the hot springs the region is famous for.

At night, it’s girls’ party time, and there’ll be Evangelion clothing and accessories to try on, as well as samples of the sake Dassai that appeared in the anime. You’ll even have the chance to receive some beauty counseling, as the Musee group which is responsible for this tour also owns the beauty salon chain Musee Platinum. You’ll also be receiving an original Evangelion and Musee collaboration gift item made just for this tour to take home with you. So, even if it’s just an overnight trip, you’ll be sure to get your full of the classic anime.

The trip, which is scheduled from May 30 to 31, is open to 80 guests at prices between 34,800 yen to 39,800 yen (US$287-$329), and Musee Travel has a special webpage dedicated to this tour, through which they are currently taking reservations. With the hot springs and girl’s party, we have to say it all sounds like good fun, even if you’re just a casual fan of the anime. Who knows, a night of hot springs, sake and Evangelion may do wonders for your skin and peace of mind!
