Jul 16, 2014

SAPPORO — Police in Sapporo said Monday they have arrested a 31-year-old woman for slashing two people at random on the street.

According to police, the woman slashed a man and a woman in two separate incidents on Sunday night. NTV reported that the first incident occurred at around 8:20 p.m. in Chuo Ward, when an 18-year-old woman was attacked. A few minutes later, a 19-year-old man was slashed a couple of blocks away.

Police said both victims were taken to hospital to be treated for knife wounds.

Police said they followed a trail of blood into the lobby of a building where they found the suspect with a blood-stained knife. NTV quoted police as saying the woman has been making incoherent remarks and said she bought the knife to cut fruit.
