Cosplay isn’t just for conventions or the Kyoto subway. Tokyo Disneyland during the Halloween season is a great place for Disney fans to show off their cosplay skills. Usually, anyone out of elementary school isn’t allowed to enter Tokyo Disneyland in full costume, but during the first and last week of the Disney Halloween event (September 9 to 15 and October 25 to 31), anyone is invited to cosplay at the park. Let’s take a look at some of the impressive costumes from the first week of the TDL Halloween season.
Of course, anyone can wear Mickey ears or any of the Disney hats sold at the park, but dressing in a full costume is only for children at Tokyo Disneyland. Since this is a very special event, allowing even adults to dress up, cosplayers seem to have gone all out for the occasion. There are a few rules, however, that come with awesomely silly graphics on the official TDL webpage.
1) You cannot enter the park in a non-Disney costume.
2) No masks or makeup that covers the entire face. Glue-on facial hair is also prohibited. Dangerous props such as swords, long sticks, chains, or inline skates are prohibited.
3) Wear a costume that everyone can enjoy. No bare shoulders or midriff. No costumes that can get in the way of other guests. No swimsuits, underwear, or full body tights.
Ok, enough of the rules! On to the costumes!
