Attack on Titan editor: Manga to end in 3-4 years

Aug 18, 2014

The University of Tokyo Newspaper posted an interview with Shintarō Kawakubo, the editor of the Attack on Titan manga, on Wednesday. In the interview, he discusses the popularity of the series, “The serialization is slated to end in three to four years, but Attack on Titan is a work that will be passed down from generation to generation for a decade — no, five decades.”

Hajime Isayama‘s manga depicts the battles between humans and the giants who now rule the world outside humans’ walled enclaves. Isayama launched the series in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in 2009, and the manga now has over 36 million copies in print. Attack on Titan: Junior High, Attack on Titan: Before the Fall, and Attack on Titan: No Regrets received special chapters in Kodansha‘s Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine in March.

Kodansha Comics publishes the Attack on Titan: Junior High, Attack on Titan: Before the Fall, and Attack on Titan: No Regrets spinoff manga in North America, as well as the original Attack on Titan manga.
