There’s a whole slew of new merch to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Naoko Takeuchi’s seminal Sailor Moon. With all these new goodies going on sale it can be pretty overwhelming, but RocketNews24 is on the case to introduce the very best, and today is no exception. In the name of the moon, she will make you part with your cash! And that’s not all – there’s also a fantastic chance to win some super-extra-special Sailor Moon-related prizes.
Today we’re introducing this brand new Bandai action figure named “S. H. Figuarts Sailor Moon” which was released on August 10. Now you can stand Serena (or Usagi, to you purists) in all her famous poses! She’s incredibly detailed, beautifully proportioned, and extremely poseable. And the best bit is that she comes with a cute little Luna character too! Check out the pics below to see everything you’ll get for your 4,410 yen (US $45).
Right now there’s a photo contest going on to promote the launch that fans can get involved with. Takeuchi herself will participate in the judging and the winners of each category will receive some “original goods” from her. No word yet on what said “goods” are, but they’re sure to be coveted by every fan out there.
There are two categories called “Pretty” and “Soldier”, and three winners will be chosen from each. “Pretty” will evaluate how cute, girly, or fashionable the picture is. This is great for anyone who, like me, is full of fancy ideas, but not so great with the nuts-and-bolts side of things. “Soldier” will look at the technical aspects and composition of the photo, and how the atmosphere has been created – if you fancy yourself particularly skilled with a camera then this could be the category for you.
Submissions are open until August 31 via Facebook and Twitter. If you think your picture can out-cute all the rest, or you’re a whizz-kid behind the lens, why not make a submission and see if you can get your hands on one of those exclusive prizes?!
