So we’ve previously seen the fluffy Pomeranian who got an Attack on Titan makeover with its very own hand-made cardboard 3D maneuver gear and sassy Recon Corps cloak. Are cat owners going to sit back and watch as the puppies steal the limelight? Not a chance.

Check out these itty bitty kitties dressed up as well-known movie characters!

To put things straight, these fabulous feline cosplay photos weren’t taken to challenge cosplaying canines. They were taken for a greater cause; to help these kitties find new homes.

Wendy McKee, a photographer in Texas, has been extremely fated with cats. In an interview with TODAY.com, she said that “My house seems to be the place that people drop off cats that they don’t want anymore.” It got to a point when she was sheltering approximately 15 cats, including some newborn kittens, and that’s when she decided that she needed to help her furry pals find new, forever homes.

As part of the adoption campaign, she put her nifty fingers and creative brains to work, and came up with this brilliant series of kitty cosplays inspired by characters from her favorite shows!

▼ Khaleesi (Game of Thrones)

▼ Jon Snow (Game of Thrones)

▼ The Doctor (Doctor Who)

▼ Gandalf (The Lord of the Rings)

▼ Wendy said that Gandalf was her favorite shoot so far. This kitten was born without eyes, and its fluffy grey coat reminded her of Gandalf the Grey.

▼ Frodo (The Lord of the Rings)

▼ Dorothy (Wizard of Oz)

▼ Princess Leia (Star Wars)

▼ According to Wendy, the most challenging part to make was the wig, which she made by hand-stitching, braiding, and then sticking pieces of yarn to little pieces of felt of a similar color.

Anyone who has had a cat would know that cats aren’t the most cooperative models around, especially when costumes are involved. But thanks to her effort and artsy talent, a few of these cats are on their way to new homes. Wendy has also said that she is planning to continue creating these adorable pictures to promote adoption for as long as she can.

We totally understand how it feels to fall in love at first sight with a precious kitty or puppy in the store window, but many abandoned animals in shelters are just as cute, and they deserve a loving home too! If you’re intending to get a pet, do the little cosplaying kitties a favor and check out your local animal shelter before making a beeline for the pet store!
