Now that the whole debacle over Hello Kitty’s identity is settled, fans can get back to other things, like preparing for the first ever Hello Kitty convention, set to take place from October 30 to November 2 in Los Angeles.
And, at least in that small corner of town, everyone is ready. The Line, the official hotel of the convention, is trotting out special Hello Kitty-themed rooms, and a Hello Kitty Spam musubi by chef Roy Choi.
The hotel also plans on creating a Hello Kitty-themed VIP lounge, stocking limited edition Hello Kitty items at the Poketo store inside the hotel, and offering Hello Kitty Linus rental bikes.
Angelenos can plan on other Hello Kitty news in the upcoming months, including, apparently, a Hello Kitty cafe.
Hello Kitty Con 2014 will take place at the Geffen Contemporary at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Downtown LA’s Little Tokyo. The event will feature “interactive experiences and events for fans and friends of all ages, including activities, art, exhibits, exclusives, workshops, lectures, panels, sneak peeks, tattoos, food, fun, and many more surprises!” Adult tickets cost $30/day and child tickets costing $20/day. Children ages 5 and under will be admitted for free.
