Tiny, adorable, and blessed with bags of musical talent – meet Joyous String, a four-kid string quartet with musical aptitude way beyond their years. They’ve been playing together since they were just four years old, and have progressed to the point where they can produce a flawless rendition of the Michael Jackson classic “Smooth Criminal” without even breaking a sweat. These are some seriously talented kids!

Joyous String belong to the Joyous Music School of New York. Here’s their version of “Smooth Criminal”!

and here’s their rendition of Katy Perry’s mega-hit “Firework”:

Eight-year-old cellist and quartet member Justin Yu has even appeared on the Ellen Degeneres show! After a short (and pretty hilarious) interview, he performs a solo on the cello:

He’s so well-spoken and mature! How can he be only eight years old? What a cutie-pie!

So much talent for such tiny people! We reckon you need to be born with a natural aptitude for music in order to get this good this soon (although practice and an immersive environment probably helps, too.) We’re sure we’re going to be hearing more from this group in the years to come!
