Most of us at one time or another have probably looked up at the night sky and marveled at the beauty of the moon glowing a beautiful pale silver, or sometimes a golden or orangish yellow. Well, looking at the night sky is sure to be even more exciting when you can see a “super moon” in the sky! What exactly is a super moon? To put it simply, it’s when the earth and moon comes closer together in distance, and you see the moon appearing larger and brighter than usual.  We actually had a “super moon” earlier this month, and we’ve found an amazing video that was taken at the time!

The recent super moon occurred on May 5th and 6th, and no doubt many people observed the phenomenon or captured it on camera or video, particularly on May 6th, when it was a full moon. It so happens that one such video captured an extraordinary image quite by coincidence and has been receiving considerable attention on the internet.

The video, titled “A plane passing across the super moon”, was taken on May 6th, the night of the full moon. As you can guess from the title, the highlight of the video occurs when a plane flies by across the large bright moon, but the entire video is truly worth watching, starting with the beginning scene where a large, orange moon slowly appears from behind the mountains – a stunning image of the rising moon.

The video then goes on to zoom in for a close-up view of the moon. You can even see the craters clearly and it really is a fantastical picture. And then, with unbelievably perfect timing, a jet plane appears and flies across the screen in silhouette against the moon. Elegant and romantic, like a scene from a movie, wouldn’t you say? We can only imagine how exciting it must have been for Nyanta8355, who uploaded the video to YouTube, to be recording the sight when the plane actually moved across the moon. So, in the end, we are very much impressed by the beautiful footage and also very envious of Nyanta8355 for being lucky enough to capture such a perfect moment on video!
