Over the summer, Sony saw quite an increase in their operating profits thanks in large part to excellent sales of their Xperia smartphone line. And while we’re sure that many people bought Xperias because they loved the technology or the design, there might be another factor that you won’t find in the company’s annual reports: Sayumi Tsuchida, the Japanese Internet’s newest crush!
Sayumi, a model whose work uniform doesn’t leave much to the imagination, ended up stealing the show from Sony’s Xperia phones–the very phones she was supposed to be promoting!
Spotted at the Xperia’s Tokyo Game Show booth, Sayumi has so captivated Japanese Internet users’ attention that sprawling threads on message board after message board have been devoted to her smiling face. Some have even started to speculate that her new admirers may drive Xperia sales up even more, calling her “the woman who will revive Sony!” Though we have to wonder who in their right mind would buy a smartphone just because of a pretty face. Probably more people than we’d care to imagine…
Sony, take note. The key to more Xperia sales isn’t quad-core processors or fancy PlayStation integration–it’s Sayumi-chan! Sign her up for a life-time contract before someone else snatches her up.
Alright, without further ado, we’d like to introduce you to Sayumi Tsuchida, the new heart-throb of Japanese Internet users!
▼ “Sayumi’s cuteness is at 100 percent,” according to one Internet user.
▼ “Wow. Has Sony’s revival finally arrived?” quipped a Japanese netizen.
▼ Another user called her “The goddess of Xperia.”
▼ “My vision has been fully healed,” wrote one Japanese Twitter user.
▼ Sayumi has represented other brands, too.
Here she’s modeling for Toyota’s Gundam-inspired Zeonic line.
▼ “What is with this angel?” one forum user asked.
We’re not sure either, to be honest.
▼ Is she saluting or just trying to keep all the camera flashes out of her eyes?
▼ Definitely the flashes…
▼ According to the caption, this is a fake.
Unfortunately, we’re not sure which is the fake…
So, what do you think, readers? Which one is the fake? We’re leaning towards Spider-man, but you can never tell with CG these days…
