Maybe Japanese-Philippine actress Elaiza Ikeda isn’t yet a household name in Japan or abroad, but if the Japanese media’s reaction to her debut as a “gravure” model is any indication, that may be changing very soon.
Ikeda is an actress, model and, apparently, sometime musician who appears to have taken a journeyman approach to roles, appearing in a wide variety of mediums, including films, commercials, TV dramas, variety shows, ads, and fashion catalogues, but it seems she has yet to find widespread fame.

That didn’t stop Japanese media outlets from gushing over her when she posted an Instagram photo (above) and YouTube video documenting her first gravure modeling photo shoot. For those unfamiliar with gravure, it’s sort of a half-step down from softcore porn – showcasing often well-endowed female models in skimpy outfits. Gravure is popular content in men’s magazines and the like and, in Japan, can often be a jumping-off point to mainstream fame, as it’s an easy way to give out some fan service without the stigma of actual adult content.
It appears the media and fans had no idea Ikeda was sporting some ample cleavage, with seemingly respectable outlets like AOL Japan stopping just ever so short of, “Holy crap, check out this lady’s knockers! AWOOGA!” style headlines (written, we presume, while the author exaggeratedly waggles his eyebrows at his computer monitor), and spending significant copy space on describing in creepy detail the gentle curve of Ikeda’s breasts.

Anyway, men will be men and AOL will be AOL, we suppose, and we hope Ikeda finds her big break soon!
