Japanese pizza chain releases spooky Zombie Pizzas for Halloween

Oct 19, 2019

Aoki’s Pizza is back at it again with their annual zombie pizza.

You may remember Aoki Pizza’s Halloween pizza from a couple of years ago; we’re here to tell you about the first zombie pizza of Reiwa. This year’s Zombie Pizza from Aoki’s Pizza is called “Chimamire Zombino,” or “Blood-covered Zombino.” It looks like a zombie emerging from the pizza crust Earth to search for human flesh with its olive eyes.

▼ Oh, and it’s got sausage fingers. Yum, protein.

While this year’s zombie pizza may seem less gory than previous years’ (see photos below), 2019’s spooky pie is arguably the healthiest of them all. It’s basically a prosciutto salad with lettuce, sausages, and the teriyaki chicken sauce base that Aoki’s is famous for.

▼ Here’s a Tweet from when the pizza went on sale September 26, complete with a haunted house background.

If you’re not familiar with Aoki’s Pizza, it’s a Japanese delivery pizza chain that serves mainly the areas of Aichi, Gifu, Shizuoka, and Mie prefectures. Should you happen to be in the area and are interested in having one of these horrifying meals delivered to you, you’ll have to pay 2,600 yen (US$23.92) for a medium or 4,200 yen for a large. All pies come with a pizza cutter included.

▼ This is what the 2018 version looked like. Terrifying, much?

Between Aoki’s Black Thunder pizza and Meat Mountain, we don’t think we’ll ever get bored with this highly original chain. We’d even so go far as to say they’ve served up this Halloween’s most appropriate meal. Grab yours before Halloween!
