Liu Yuanfei is a Chinese man in his 50s. If he was your neighbor, you might be surprised enough at how young he looks for his age. However, he has an even more shocking talent that in spite of his youthful looks makes you wonder how he managed to live even this long.
Liu Yuanfei also goes by the name “Shewang” or Snake King due to his unnerving ability to “become one” with snakes by allowing them to slither through his various orifices. Be warned: the following video is not recommended for those squeamish about snakes, and especially for those uncomfortable with the idea of snakes crawling up your nose and out of your mouth…
This video has been around sites in China for a couple years but has more recently been getting attention around the world. It was originally taken as part of a documentary on veterans of the Vietnam War such as Liu Yuanfei. However, for this man memories of the war seem to have taken a backseat to his current hobby of snakes.
The video starts with Liu sticking a serpent down his throat as if he were snaking a shower drain.
He then sends one through his nostril and down into his mouth. Before that he makes sure to wash the snake off… because it would be disgusting if he didn’t.
Then he puts another one in his other nostril.
And the Cthulhu look is complete!
In a rather anti-climactic sense of showmanship, Liu Yuanfei spends the rest of the video just kind of tossing the snakes around and teasing them.
We don’t recommend storing your snakes as he does, which seems to be in a sac under his bed. Come to think of it, we can’t recommend anything remotely like what he is doing in this video for an endless number of reasons.
Liu came to be accustomed to snakes 30 years ago thanks to a relative of his who specialized in treating people with poisonous snakebites. From there he joined a traveling snake performance troupe developing his snake-handling technique. He even met his future wife while performing with the group, which really saved him the trouble of having to explain what he does at some other point during the relationship.
In closing, while it is a sure-fire way to shock people, please do not attempt to stick a snake in your nose. It’s bad for you, not to mention terrible for the poor animal. Sticking with inanimate objects like shoelaces and condoms should have a freaky enough effect with a mere fraction of the training.
