When we think of superheroes or other magical beings with fast-healing abilities, we rarely think of children. But if you’ve seen a toddler fall, smack itself in the face, cry for a few seconds, and then run off giggling, you might realize that we’re looking for our superpowered guardians in the wrong age groups.
Of course, that’s not to say that children aren’t vulnerable to all sorts of injury, and we most definitely need to be careful with them! It’s just that they seem to have a strange resiliency that’s somewhat rare in adult humans. Take, for example, this three-year-old who fell out of a window last week, hit a parked car, and then just walked the whole thing off!
A recent news report by CCTV featured an alarming story about a three-year-old boy who apparently fell out of a third-story window, according to the Shanghaiist. And CCTV didn’t just report on it–they got a full video of the event.
▼Oh, a nice city street in China. That’s cool, but whatever.
The footage starts simply enough with a shot of a quiet street in Kunming, Yunnan Province in China. As you can see above, there’s nothing more than parked cars on the street. It even looks like a nice day! Maybe it would be the perfect time to go out for a stroll. Surely nothing horrifying will happen here, the casual viewer might think.
▼And then we crank things from zero to HOLY CRAP in 0.1 seconds.
Suddenly, though, the pleasant scene is interrupted by the sight of something seemingly falling out of nowhere. And that something just happens to be a little kid in a green jacket–feel free to join us in gasping in horror. The video even includes a terrifying thump as the child hits the car, though we kind of suspect someone edited that into the video in the newsroom.
At this point, if you’re anything like us, you’re probably thinking that the kid is dead–or at least paralyzed from the everything down. But then something amazing happens…
▼Kind of like Rocky beating Drago, but ten times more awesome.
The kid gets up, stumbles for a bit, and then just walks off camera.
According to RT, the child’s grandparents were busy and didn’t see when the child fell. However, his parents took him to the hospital once they came home, and doctors found that he had only small scratches and no major injuries.
▼Check out the full video below, in case you don’t believe us.
Now, you could say that the kid was just lucky or that children are simply built for getting knocked around, but we can’t help wondering: Is this Wolverine’s son? And if so, will he promise to use his powers only for good?
Well, regardless of the little tyke’s origin story, we are definitely glad this video had a happy ending. And let this serve as a warning to child-proof your home!
