The JTB corporation, established in 1912, has been planning and booking vacations for hundreds of thousands of Japanese citizens and foreign visitors for decades. Although many in the west now prefer to book online, in Japan it’s still quite common to call up your local travel agent and have them book your vacation on their behalf.
With the constant exportation of culture through anime and manga, more and more people are looking to make their Japanese vacation dreams come true. And now, JTB is excited to introduce a brand new tour package that includes all the things newlyweds and betrothed couples are looking for in a vacation: exotic locations, cultural immersion and even a wedding.
Back in 2011, JTB started to offer the Royal Road Ginza Global Lounge tour aimed at foreign customers who wanted full-time English service while they were in Japan. Each and every year, more people are visiting and JTB claims that the usage of this personal service has increased drastically in recent years.
Couples who are looking for a unique ceremony can now sign up for a new travel plan that allows them to experience a Japanese-style wedding and photo session at the Asakusa Shrine.
▼ Don’t be so gloom, groom.
Not only do you and your betrothed get dressed up in kimono costume, but you can also experience a simplified Shinto wedding ceremony. For those who would just like the photos it is possible to arrange for pictures only at the Shinto shrine or garden area.
▼ This could be you!
Husbands- and wives-to-be who are considering a special destination wedding, here is an example of what you can get from Royal Road Ginza Global Lounge:
– Wear a kimono as well as get your hair and makeup done
– Hold a San San Kudo ceremony (sipping sake from the same cups to seal the vows)
– The photos from the shoot will be sent to the customer within a month
– Prices start at 200,000 yen (US $1,661.97)
For an extra 20,000 yen ($166.20), you can ride around Asakusa Shrine in a rickshaw for 60 minutes.
▼ This could be you, too!

This wedding plan might not be for everyone, but you will surely be able to brag to all your friends about the unique wedding experience you had in Japan. May we suggest some “Japan-themed” jewelry to complete your wedding as well.
