The 2016 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook announced its lists of the top manga series on Thursday.

5. My Hero Academia by Kōhei Horikoshi

6. Nami yo Kiite Kure by Hiroaki Samura

7. Hataraku Saibō by Akane Shimizu

8. Okazaki ni Sasagu by Saho Yamamoto

9, Dagashi Kashi by Kotoyama

10. Boku dake ga Inai Machi by Kei Sanbe

11. Otōto no Otto by Gengoroh Tagame

12. Hibiki: Shōsetsuka ni Naru Hōhō by Mitsuharu Yanamoto

13. Land by Kazumi Yamashita

14. Angolmois: Genkō Kassen-ki by Nanahiko Tagaki

15. BLUE GIANT by Shinichi Ishizuka

16. The Ancient Magus’ Bride by Kore Yamazaki

The lists are the result of surveys conducted among more than 400 professionals in the fields of manga and publishing.

Dungeon Meshi ranked at #13 on Da Vinci magazine’s comic rankings as part of its 16th annual “Book of the Year” list. Golden Kamui ranked at #28, and Kuro Hakubutsukan: Ghost and Ladyranked at #22.

In 2015, Yoshitoki Ōima‘s A Silent Voice manga topped the Male Readers list, and Tomomi Abe‘s Chi-chan wa Chotto Tarinai (Chi-chan Isn’t Quite Good Enough) topped the Female Readers list. In 2014, Yusei Matsui‘s Assassination Classroom manga topped the Male Readers list, and Hozumi‘s Sayonara Sorcier topped the Female Readers list.
