CHIBA — JR East says it will re-educate its employees after its trains have been involved in a series of overruns at platforms.
The latest incident occurred at JR Keiyo line’s Inage-kaigan station in Chiba Prefecture on Tuesday, Fuji TV reported. A local train bound for Soga station stopped 100 meters beyond the designated platform just before 9:30 p.m., and caused a five-minute delay.
According to JR East, the male driver said that he got drowsy and could not apply the brakes in time.
There have been six cases of delay due to overruns caused on the Keiyo line since February.
