A lesson for peeping toms everywhere: you never know when Kamen Rider Knight will appear and put an end to your dastardly deeds.

At about 5:00 pm on December 7, a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of recording video up the skirt of a woman who was waiting in line at a cash register in Aeon Mall in Kumiya, Kyoto. However, in the middle of his nefarious act, a costumed superhero known as a Kamen Rider appeared to apprehend him.

More specifically it was Kamen Rider Knight, played by the 37-year-old Osakan actor Satoshi Matsuda in the tokusatsu series Kamer Rider Ryuki. Matsuda was not in costume at the time and just happened to be in town filming another project during this incident.

According to police, the suspect tried to flee the scene when his victim discovered what he was doing and started screaming. Matsuda was standing nearby when he saw the commotion and chased the suspect for about 100 yards before grabbing him and turning him in to the authorities.

RocketNews24 contacted the police to ask if Matsuda couldn’t find a reflective surface with which to activate his Advent Cards (bestowed on the 13 Kamen Riders) so he could transform into Kamen Rider Knight, or if he simply had left them elsewhere. In response, they told us to “go away” and to “really get out more often.”

We took that to mean the investigation is still ongoing.
