Have you ever loved something so much, you just had to shout it out to the whole world? Well these guys certainly know that feeling. A group of foreigners created this video for the one true love in their lives – Japanese convenience stores.

Ah, the conbini. Japan’s ubiquitous convenience stores are open at all times of day or night offering anything you could possibly wish for. Toothpaste and instant coffee for those mornings when you wake up 10 minutes before work. Underwear and conveniently sized toiletries for those nights when you’re not going to make it home. Or you can even just stand in there and read for a couple of hours.

In Tokyo there’s a conbini on nearly every corner, their familiar signs a beacon of hope in an otherwise bleak world.

Some foreigners in particular have been so overwhelmed by the marvel that is the Japanese convenience store that their emotions could no longer be contained, and that love has burst forth in the form of song.

Their song – which is in Japanese! – and video has been uploaded to YouTube for us all to enjoy. You can feel the love right off the bat with the emotional piano intro.

In Konbini, ikou! or Let’s go to the conbini! we follow the guys as they demonstrate their affection for the conbini, and occasionally do  things that could possibly be considered a little creepy (see below).

Of course they’re not taking themselves too seriously, and it’s clear the guys have a sense of humour from their tongue-in-cheek blurb:

The bittersweet tale of two men living far from their native lands who discover a passion unlike any other in their love of one thing: Japanese convenience stores. Witness a love story a year in the making, created by people who came together from 16 countries to celebrate convenience. The time has come: let’s go the Konbini.

Overall it’s a great bit of silly fun that’s clearly had some real love and effort put into it. Check out the video below!
