Japanese band World Order robot-dances their way around London in their latest music video while locals look on amused and confused. Check out the full video plus screenshots after the jump!
World Order is a Japanese band with two albums to their name: World Order released in 2010 and 2012 released in…well, I think the title makes it fairly obvious. Formed by choreographer and former mixed martial artist Genki Sudo, most of World Order’s videos feature of the band dancing perfectly choreographed robotic dance routines in public places and have gained them quite a following on YouTube as well as landing them some high-profile ad campaigns for companies such as Toyota and Dydo.
The band’s latest video, for the song “Informal Empire”, was released on Nov 7 and features the band performing their trademark dance moves in the midst of London. The synthesized vocals sing lyrics in English, French and Japanese, and the electronic beat is so catchy it’ll have you wanting to get up and try the dance moves yourself.
The group performs their routines in front of famous London locations while bemused onlookers film them with their smartphones, no doubt thinking to themselves: “Those crazy Japanese are at it again!” One of the highlights is the slow-motion robot walk across Abbey Road, recreating the scene from the famous Beatles album cover of the same name.
Here are the locations in the order they appear:
▼ Westminster Bridge with a view of the newly-christened Elizabeth Tower, home of Big Ben.
▼ Royal Albert Hall
▼ Piccadilly Circus
▼ Nelson’s Column
▼ The National Gallery art museum
▼ Trafalgar Square
▼ St. Pancras Station
▼ West End
▼ Abbey Road
▼Camden Town
▼ After that they take a bus ride on one of London’s iconic red double-decker buses
▼ Finally they do an extended routine at Waddesdon Manor, Buckinghamshire
Living up to their international name, the band have traveled all around the world to produce their music videos. You can check out a few more of them below.
▼ New York
▼ Tokyo
