After months of silence, Yu-Gi-Oh! launched an official movie teaser site on December 8, featuring a mysterious countdown clock and two silhouetted characters.
4K Media announced that a new Yu-Gi-Oh! movie was in development back in June, and that they were seeking a distributor for countries outside of Asia. Well, it looks like they’ve got something else to announce now!
The new teaser site features the silhouetted figures of Yugi and Seto Kaiba, prompting speculation that the new movie will take the franchise back to its roots.
Japanese commenters weren’t exactly falling over themselves with excitement, though:
“Huh? Yu-Gi-Oh!? They’re still making that?
“It won’t make sense to today’s kids.”
“Those two [Yugi and Kaiba]! I bet they make this one, and then that’s the end of Yu-Gi-Oh!”
▼ Launching a countdown to an announcement doesn’t really count as a “special announcement”, guys. But we know what you mean, and that’s what matters.
▼ Watch the clock tick down for yourself here. Or here!
Full details will be revealed on December 15 at 10am (JST). But what do you think, Rocketeers? What kind of Yu-Gi-Oh! movie would you like to see made?
