There’s only one thing better than a life-size replica of your favourite Japanese baseball player, and that’s a manga-style life-size replica.
A large-scale illustration of eight players from Yokohama DeNa Baystars goes on show this week in the run-up to a special festival for the Baystars’ female fans.
The illustration, by manga artist Moyu, features eight players: Takehiro Ishikawa, Hiroyuki Shirasaki, Takayuki Kajitani, Sho Aranami, Yoshitomo Tsutsugo, Taiki Sekine, Kazuki Mishima, and Yasuaki Yamasaki.
▼ Here they are!
The event organisers are hoping female fans head to the life-sized manga artwork to pose for photos with their favourite players. The illustration will be on display in YY Park by the Yokohama Stadium, from May 22 until June 21, when YOKOHAMA☆GIRLS FESTIVAL 2015 begins. The festival is a two-day event for female Baystars fans, who can also buy a limited-edition girls’ uniform to wear to games on June 21 and 22.
▼ The Baystars love their female fans so much, they also made this special uniform for them to buy!
