Why should there be only one No Diet Day? Check out 10 restaurants perfect for 10 more days of gluttony!

It’s hard to watch a bit of TV and not be confused by the mixed messages that it seems to send out. On one hand, there are plenty of commercials and shows that tell viewers that they need to exercise more and watch what they eat, but then they also show plenty of celebrities visiting restaurants and eating delicious food. It’s enough to make your head spin and mouth salivate!

If you do plan on dieting for health reasons, you should always leave yourself a “cheat” day in your schedule to eat what you want, like many people did on International No Diet Day, celebrated on May 6. But if you’re still feeling hungry, we’ve got a delicious list of 10 restaurants in and around the Tokyo area that you should head to if you’re still in the mood to gorge.

1. the Nikudon no Mise / the肉丼の店

Here they serve a roast beef bowl that looks more like a mound of beef more than anything else. Pierce through the meat wall and you’ll find meat-soaked rice underneath. You definitely won’t be hungry after this meal.

Open 11:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m.

2. Agemonya /

We’ve been to a few all-you-can-eat fried chicken restaurants, but this is the best one we’ve found. Even though getting a single piece of karaage is enough to make you full, the fact that it tastes so good will make you want to keep ordering more.

Address: Tokyo-to, Suginami-ku, Koenji Minami 4-29-9, Dai 3 Anabuki Building
Open 11:30 a.m.-11:00 p.m.

3. Tokyo Tonteki /

A satisfactory meal is only 10 ounces away thanks to Tokyo Tonteki. They know how to cook the meat just right so that every bit is extremely flavorful.

Address: Tokyo-to, Shibuya-ku, Shibuya 2-22-10 Takizawa Building 2nd Floor

4. Bam Bam Bancho /

If it’s fish you are after, you probably won’t find a bigger bowl of negitoro (tuna and green onions) than here. Piled up high on a bowl of rice.

Address: Kanagawa-ken, Yokohama-shi, Naka-ku, Bentendori 3-39, Lions Mansion Kannai Dai-2 2nd Floor

Closed on Mondays, unless there’s a baseball game at Yokohama Stadium

5. Ramai /

In Yokohama you’ll also find the sister restaurant to an Indonesian soup curry eatery from Hokkaido. The smooth spices and towering plate of rice will have you dreaming of heading to Kintamani, Bali.

Address: Kanagawa-ken, Yokohama-shi, Naka-ku, Isezaki-cho 1-6-5, Kiraku Building 7th Floor

No holidays

6. Tachigui Midori /

You don’t always have to break the bank when you’re filling your stomach, and at this fantastic sushi restaurant, one tuna nigiri will cost you just 50 yen (US$0.45), so you can load up on sushi until you are bursting at the seams!

Address: Tokyo-to, Toshima-ku, Nishi-Ikeburkuro 3-28-14 (Inside Echika Ikebukuro)
Open 11:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m.

7. Tori-en / 鳥園

When a restaurant calls its bowl of roast beef “Fuji-san/Mt. Fuji,” you’d better believe it’s going to be an impressive sight. The best part of this restaurant might be that the Fuji-san is available at lunch time, so you can start your feast at noon.

Address: Tokyo-to, Shinjuku-ku, Nishi-Shinjuku 1-2-4
Open noon-11:40 p.m.
Closed New Year’s Day

8. Roast Beef Kitchen /

You won’t find as much per bowl at this restaurant compared to Tori-en, but you can’t ignore taste when it comes to a fabulous meal. While Roast Beef Kitchen doesn’t get our volume award it certainly qualifies in the taste category.

Address: Tokyo-to, Shinjuku-ku, Yotsuya 4-30-15, Ichikawa Building 1st Floor
Open 11:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

9. Gotsubo / 五坪

You won’t find a lot of space to eat at Gotsubo, but they make up for the tiny eating area with a triple serving of katsu (breaded and fried cutlets)! You’ll definitely find your fill here, even if it means standing up while you dine.

Address: Tokyo-to, Toshima-ku, Higashi-Ikebukuro 1-13-2
Open 11:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.

10. Miura Misakiko /

If you ever thought the flavor of your gunmaki was overpowered by the taste of seaweed, then you have to visit Miura Misakiko. Here we found the largest offering of toppings on a gunmaki that we’d ever seen. You definitely won’t be disappointed here.

Address: Tokyo-to, Taito-ku, Ueno 6-12-14
Open 10:30 a.m.-11:00 p.m. (Weekends and holidays 10:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m.)

You don’t have to wait until the next International No Diet Day to eat at any of these restaurants, but be sure your stomach is ready for it, since Japan doesn’t do doggy bags.
