What if the world’s most awesome anime heroes joined forces to take down evil?
Cram a bunch of elite superheroes into an action film and you get Avengers: Infinity War, the third instalment of the extremely popular Avengers franchise. Watching these extraordinary individuals — who undoubtedly shaped some of our childhoods — fighting for justice is nothing less than awe-inspiring.
Our Japanese anime superheroes haven’t received such crossover treatment, unfortunately, and with so many amazing characters left out in the cold, YouTube channel Anime Mirchi decided to pay them homage by mashing them up in a replica movie trailer with voices taken from the original Infinity War trailer..
▼ Heroes of the anime world unite!
Instantly recognizable characters are in no short supply in the video, featuring powerhouses like Ryuko Matoi from Kill La Kill, Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach, and Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist.
▼ When the anime world is at war against evil, you can count on mighty heroes like Naruto…
▼ …the cast of One Piece…
▼ …Inuyashiki’s Ichiro filling in for Tony Stark…
▼ …and arguably the most powerful of them all, Goku.
Drawing from legendary anime like Hunter x Hunter, Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, and many others, the impressive mash-up clip is an excellent example of why we need a huge anime crossover film uniting awesome Japanese superheroes who have also influenced us.
▼ Here’s the original Avengers: Infinity War for comparison.
Which characters would you like to see in an anime crossover movie? Here’s hoping us fans will be rewarded with one someday, featuring our beloved heroes locked in an epic struggle against adversaries of unimaginable power. After all, history has already proven that superhero crossovers are the stuff of dreams.
