Fighting game fans find someone to love forever.

In any industry, one of the surest paths to success is to differentiate yourself from your competitors. So while the majority of Japan’s gravure swimsuit models primarily promote themselves with their prodigious busts, Yuka Kuramochi, and her fans’ eyes, are focused on a different part of the body.

The elegant arks of Kuramochi’s hips and hindquarters have earned her the nickname of “Shiri Shokunin,” or “Master Butt Craftswoman.” The 28-year-old unabashedly touts her 100-centimeter (39.3-inch) hip measurement at the very start of the profile for her Twitter account (@yukakuramoti).

▼ Kuramochi is also one of the most prolific contributors to swimsuit model selfie site Jigadoribu, which we previously covered in its capacity as a resource for studying the Japanese language.

Kuramochi is extremely active on social media, but right now she’s attracting attention for something other than her much-admired backside, as she’s announced that she’s just gotten married!

Taking a look at the wedding photos for Kuramochi and her husband, Keita Ai, you might notice the groom holding something unusual in the top left photo. That’s an arcade-style video game fighting stick he’s got in his hands, and while that’s not a typical wedding photo prop in Japan, it’s totally appropriate in this case, since Keita is a professional gamer, better known under his e-sports handle Fuudo.

▼ Fuudo also shared some pics through his Twitter account (@TheFuudo).

Some might still be tempted to criticize Fuudo for bringing his work tools into his wedding photos, but video games aren’t just how he earns a living, they’re also how he found the love of his life. Kuramochi says the two met roughly 10 years ago at an arcade, becoming friends through their shared love of Street Fighter IV. Eventually, as Fuudo started competing in tournaments, Kuramochi would also show up to cheer him on. “Somewhere along the line, enjoying playing games with him and going to cheer for him at tournaments, I started to feel that I could be happy with this person forever,” Kuramochi says, “and we decided to get married.”

The couple submitted their marriage registration paperwork on November 5, one day before Kuramochi’s 28th birthday. Though it’s not uncommon for Japanese models to retire from the profession once getting married, Kuramochi has yet to announce any such decision.

Kuramochi has, however, said she intends to keep cheering for Fuudo as he competes against the best gamers in the world, and she’s also serving as the producer for all-female e sports team G-Star Gaming.

For right now, though, no doubt the pair are simply happy to be basking in newlywed happiness.
