In Japan, 2014 will be another “Horse Year” on the Japanese zodiac calendar. Last year, Japan celebrated the snake, which is said to bring wisdom and good monetary fortune to businesses. The horse, however, brings leadership, good business partnerships, and instant failure to all weight loss resolutions in the form of this adorable customized roll cake from Tokyo’s renowned Rihga Royal Hotel.
Going on sale from December 30, only 10 of these cute roll cakes will be produced a day, with each selling at the relatively low cost of 2,014 yen (about US$20). The sponge cake is made from a special type of brown sugar and is filled with whipped cream and topped with white chocolate pieces. So why not ring in the new year with this horsey roll cake? Your waistline may not thank you, but your tastebuds sure will!
