Some people say life is like a movie. Well, that’s certainly true in some respects, since there are many movies and dramas that are inspired by real-life events. But we all know some scenes and plots in movies are blown out of proportion to achieve a more dramatic expression on-screen, and sometimes movie plots are too exaggerated to ever be thought of as anything more than works of fiction.
One Korean YouTuber has seemingly been pondering such issues as well, particularly why kidnap victims in movies and dramas can’t scream for help simply because they have a piece of duct tape over their mouths. And to prove her point, she tries it herself.
Why? Why won’t the gagged people in movies or dramas try to scream for help? Sure, duct tape or a stinky sock in your mouth would hinder your ability to speak properly, but those things aren’t going to completely mute out sounds, are they? This sassy young lady puts the tape to the test.
▼ Firstly, one piece of tape.
▼ Even without using her hands, it was easy for her to wiggle the tape off her lips.
▼ Maybe she just has an extraordinarily strong jaw? Challenging two pieces of tape.
▼ The tape doesn’t come off as easily this time, but that’s not stopping her from screaming.
▼ This oft-used method of gagging baffles her to no end.
Check out the video for yourself:
To be fair, the tape this young lady used doesn’t seem to be especially heavy-duty, and seriously, which on-screen kidnapper tapes the mouth of their victim in a “+” position? Don’t they usually layer the tape in an “x” shape? Obviously this video was just for laughs, but she does make a few good points.
What other movie or drama scenes can you think of that would seem rather silly in reality? Leave us a comment below!
