Japan continues to show its love for all things “cute“. So, what has about 24,000 retweets and 31,000 favorites on Twitter right now? We’ll give you a hint, it begins with a ‘C’ and end with an ‘AT’. You get three guesses and the first two don’t count.
Dogs have their own very specific way of telling you to stay off their property. It involves a lot of barking and chasing which keeps the intruding human on their toes and thinking, “Oh geez, it’s going to eat me!” Dogs will use all their power and energy to get you to GTFO.
▼BARK BARK, GET OFF, ATTACK, BITE, BARK!!!!!!!
Cats play a whole different game. Sure, sometimes they go all arched back and hissy when they want you to stay away, but normally, they are masters at keeping their intentions hidden. Are you ready for the cat intention test?!? You are walking down the street and a little ways down you see a furry ball with ears peaking over a fence.
▼“I see you, human.”
At this distance it might be difficult to ascertain what exactly the feline thinks of a new presence. Are those come hither eyes? Or do they say “get bent”?
▼The head is so fuzzy and pet-able, but the eyes say “I will destroy you”
Your mind is conflicted, you want to touch the cute kitty, but you also value the skin on your hand. Those “poisonous” cat claws will make you break out in a rash! You can’t take that risk!
▼“That’s right, keep walking.”
The people of Japan are bound to have many experiences just like @makotey. But, you may never capture the perfect essence of the “guard cat” like these photos. Just remember though, with the number of stray cats in Japan, they will always be watching you.
