The Japanese band White Jam have created a surprisingly good Christmas version of the now world-famous PPAP song.
White Jam have gone to great lengths to recreate Japanese comedian Kosaka Daimaou’s “Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen” hit in the form of a romantic Christmas song and they’ve absolutely nailed it. Unsurprisingly, the official YouTube video has reached around one million views in the last couple of weeks.

Who would have thought a song about a pineapple-apple pen could be so heartfelt? If it wasn’t for the ridiculous lyrics, one could imagine this song being played at the most romantic spots around Tokyo on Christmas Eve (Christmas Eve is famous for couples in Japan going on a date).

White Jam’s PPAP Christmas Version has a very soothing melody inspired by the original tune and comes complete with a rap bridge. The music video is also of high quality, with a romantic storyline leaving us wondering if the girl will choose pineapple boy or apple boy.

Not only has the PPAP song been made into a Christmas song but Ryuk, the Shinigami “Death Spirit” from the Death Note hit movie franchise, has also been dancing up a storm in his very own version of the PPAP music video.
