If you’re a video game fan and in the line for a new laptop computer, it might be your lucky day! Japan’s Sega Store is currently accepting orders for specially designed notebooks designed to look like Sega’s late, great home consoles.
Short of dropping our current machines down the stairs or accidentally pouring coffee over them, we don’t necessarily need one per-se, but the more we gaze upon these photos, the more that little tech-loving devil inside us shouts the same word over and over and pumps gaming nostalgia into our bloodstream. Waaaant!
Your Dreamcast days may well be over, but you can keep the dream alive with one of these gorgeous/nerdy laptops, available in a choice of four designs. Coming in “light”, “standard”, “high-tech” and “premium” models costing 99,750 – 194,250 yen (US$1050-2000) and with processors ranging from Intel Core i3 to i7, there really is no excuse for any hardcore gamer or tech enthusiast not to be reaching for their credit card.
Initially rumoured to by some gaming websites to be available until 21 March, ebten’s Sega Store is taking orders for the special laptops now until 23:59 on Sunday, 31 March, leaving you just nine more days to grab one.
They’re so pretty…
▼ The sleek Sega blue model
▼ The Mega Drive (known, for some reason, as the Genesis in North America) model.
▼ The very 90s Sega Saturn-themed version.
▼ And of course, the company’s console swan song, the Sega Dreamcast.
If anyone needs me, I’ll be in the kitchen making a pot of coffee.
