The man brought us the jaw-dropping stop motion videos of battles between iconic Dragon Ball and Street Fighter characters has done it again! This time, he’s brought The Legend of Zelda‘s sword-wielding hero Link to play, and he’s got a sexy gun-toting pal with him…
Self-confessed animation amateur and part-time teacher Counter656 (also known as Dali Taichung) shot to fame last year with his intricately detailed and lovingly made stop motion animations featuring well-known anime and video game characters in action figure form. Taking thousands of photos of the figures in subtly different poses, adding computer-generated special effects and even switching the figures’ faces to alter their expressions, the videos take months to complete.
In Dali’s latest video, titled “The Knife Lord”, elfin hero Link faces off against the stage one boss, but enlists a little help from Black Rock Shooter‘s nameless heroine along the way.
Check out the full video below, which is packed full of video game and anime references and comes courtesy of Machinima’s Happy Hour YouTube channel. We’re sure you won’t be disappointed.
And to think some of us made the mistake of throwing away our action figures when we went to college…
