You can find pretty much anything on self-styled “front page of the Internet” Reddit, which means from time to time you’ll probably stumble across something you’d rather un-see. One poster in a Pokémon subreddit uploaded this gem, sharing a cake her boyfriend had made for her. Make sure you have a strong stomach before reading on…
Prepare yourself for… Edible Garbodor!
▼ ITT, YOU eat GARBODOR.
Before you close the page in disgust, let me point out one thing – this is a completely edible cake, honest! No tricks here, just good old cake, sweets, and chocolate, thrown together in a shockingly realistic imitation of a Pokémon imitating a garbage dump. Said Pokémon is Garbodor, the evolved form of the infinitely cuter Trubbish, and #569 in the endlessly expanding Pokédex. (I think they started to run out of ideas for new Pokémon a while back – this one probably came about when the office intern was taking out the trash. But I digress.)
Even if the thought of a portion of this putrid pudding passing your lips makes you want to retch, there’s no denying that this is actually quite an artistic feat. Compare with the official rendition below.
▼ He’s kind of cute when he’s still 2D.
And as always, the responses are some of the best parts of the post:
Looks like garbage…
From a distance it looks disgusting. But when I zoom in I really want to eat it.
It looks like its been sitting out for a few years
That is horrible and disgusting.
I love it.
Kind of makes me want to puke…
I’d say kill it with fire, but it looks like someone already tried.
I’m…deeply disturbed by this…
So what’s it consist of?
>Cakes, jelly beans, hardshell chocolate syrup, frosting and egg-roll wrappers.
>>I both want to eat it by its description, but feel repulsed looking at it. Confused salivation.
Surprisingly, the cake was well-received by Redditors, even if it did send a few of them running towards the bathroom. If you squint a bit and keep telling yourself “that brown stuff is just cake and chocolate sauce, that brown stuff is just cake and chocolate sauce…” then I can see how it might look vaguely yummy. Maybe. Possibly.
So here’s the million-dollar question: Would you eat it?
