With the slogan “Delicious ramen is in your house,” Toyo Suisan Kaisha, Ltd., the Japanese company best known for producing the Maruchan brand of ramen noodles, announced the second round of their ongoing ramen campaign on November 5, which will culminate in one lucky person winning a super stylish, one-of-a-kind, ramen donburi [porcelain bowl] chair.
As if the thought of owning your very own ramen-bowl chair wasn’t exciting enough, the campaign also comes complete with four handsome characters ready to teach you all the secrets behind cooking a perfect bowl of ramen!
From now until December 31st, Maruchan is offering participants the chance to win a unique “ramen-bowl” chair that will delight ramen lovers and collectors of eclectic home goods everywhere. Anyone who correctly answers a simple quiz on the campaign website (Japanese only) is automatically entered into the drawing to win this ultimate prize.
The playful piece of furniture rests upon a spiral-shaped naruto fish cake, measures 97 x 94 x 121 centimeters (38 x 37 x 48 inches), and weighs approximately 66 kilograms (146 pounds):
▼ Warning: Prize package does not come with gorgeous model.
The chair is actually part of Maruchan’s larger “Voice Recipe 2” promotional campaign, which was “cooked up” in the form of short voice drama episodes narrated by four dashing characters with a keen sense for the culinary arts. In each episode, one of the men, voiced by prolific anime voice actors Tomokazu Sugita, Nobunaga Shimazaki, Yuki Kaji, and Yuichi Nakamura, guides listeners through original ramen recipes with words of encouragement.
And you’ll want to be sure to check out their incredibly bizarre promotional video too! It’ll definitely get you in the mood…to cook.

Now, we just have to figure out how to guarantee our win in the contest — that ramen chair would look perfect in RocketNews24’s Tokyo office! We can already see Mr. Sato lounging in it while plotting his next adventure.
