
There’s a whole new way to play with the star of Capcom’s romance simulator.
Last month, video game publisher Capcom unveiled Incarcerated Palm, a smartphone romance simulator in which the player forms a romantic bond with an amnesic prisoner through counseling sessions, touching palms, and the slightly less tender technique of covertly observing him through hidden cameras placed in his cell. Since the prisoner, named Haruto, is a handsome young man with delicate features, unblemished skin, and a fashionable haircut, it was only a matter of time until Capcom started pumping out merchandise with his likeness on it, and lo and behold, the company has just started taking orders for a Haruto huggy pillowcase.
At 180 centimeters (71 inches) in length, this is a life-size recreation of the character designed by Chisato Mita, a Capcom illustrator who also handled the original character designs for anime TV series Macross Delta.
Now, we should take this moment to remind everyone that there are orthopedic, psychological, and even respiratory upsides to sleeping with a huggy pillow. Many people who outfit theirs with an illustration of a hot anime or video game star, though, are interested in having a physical representation of the character for a little physical activity. Capcom seems to be well-aware of this, and has thus decided to make Haruto pillow cover out soft-to-the-touch microfiber.

But perhaps as a nod to Haruto’s video game origins, the pillowcase has an extra bit of interactivity. It’s actually a three-piece set, with Haruto’s clothed torso and legs being two separate pieces which you can slip off to see what, if anything, he’s got on underneath.
Below the waist, Haruto has his manly bits tucked into a form-fitting pair of Anemone Coronaria briefs, an actual product from underwear manufacturer Betones. Meanwhile, removing the top half of the pillowcase exposes his smooth, almost nipple-less chest for your appreciative eyes.

Domestic orders can be placed between now and October 31 here on Capcom’s e-Capcom online store, where the cover is priced at 25,000 yen (US$243). Quantities are limited, though, so there’s a chance Capcom will stop taking orders before the Halloween deadline. Delivery is scheduled for December, but since the pillow itself is not included, you’ll have to pull the cover off another huggy pillow for a character you’ve grown tired of, or else purchase a new one separately elsewhere.
