The perfect companion for your next trip to Japan.
Japanese car rental company Orix recently launched a new campaign featuring the specially designed “Japanese-style” station wagon that is both pleasing to the eye and a pleasure to drive. Now you too can take part in the itasha craze, only with more refined elegance.
▼ The rental price comes at 23,760 yen (US$213) per day.
The exterior is wrapped in colorful yet elegant motifs resembling a Maiko’s kimono and obi sash, and the spacious, tatami-inspired eight-seat interior is designed to accommodate up to six adults with plenty of space for luggage as well.
The high cabin lets you and your friends dance to your favorite J-Pop tunes while chugging down some Asahi beer, as long as you’re not the driver of course.
Customers will be presented with a free “omotenashi set” containing a fluffy blanket, three pairs of slippers, and three fashionable bottle covers. The bottle covers come with hooks so you can conveniently fasten your soda (or “cola,” as they call it here) onto the headrests.
▼ Who doesn’t like freebies?
This campaign is limited to Kansai International Airport, which is perfect for travelers looking to explore Osaka, culture-rich Kyoto, and sophisticated Nagoya.
The promotion lasts until March 31, 2018, and we recommend you plan your Japan trip to coincide with the autumn foliage. Not only will you avoid the “high season” charges, but you’ll get a chance to see stunning scenery and enjoy what is arguably the best season for foodies.
