Nintendo Japan recently announced the release of two shiny new limited colors for the 3DS LL (XL in the West) – “Orange x Black” and “Turquoise x Black“, set to hit stores in Japan on 28 November.
On top of that, a special tie-up edition with The Legend of Zelda is also in the works, to be launched on 26 December.

The 3DS LL Limited Pack comes complete with an AC adapter (3DS LL models are ordinarily sold sans charging cable in Japan and Europe, bizarrely) and a cleaning pouch in a matching color. The set also contains:
- 1 stylus pen for Nintendo 3DS LL
- 1 4GB SDHC memory card
- 6 AR cards
- Easy start guide
- Instruction manual
- Warranty card
The eye-popping lacquered consoles are limited in quantity and will be available from 28 November, retailing for 19,900 yen (US$204).
While most Nintendo lovers will be debating whether to pick up the cool turquoise or vibrant orange model, Zelda fans will have one more option to look out for as The Legend of Zelda: Triforce of the Gods 2 Limited Pack will be hitting shelves in Japan on 26 December with a price tag of 22,800 yen ($234). The collaboration console is the same model as revealed to US gamers earlier this month, and features an elegant gold-black exterior with the game’s symbolic triforce logo printed on it, and a beautiful gold interior that will make you feel a rank above the rest when heading out on your next virtual adventure.
Packed with a 4GB SDHC memory card pre-downloaded with The Legend of Zelda: Triforce of the Gods 2 game on it, you’ll be all set to play the moment you switch this sleek set on. Like most Nintendo 3DS LL packs, this one also contains:
- 1 stylus pen for Nintendo 3DS LL
- 6 AR cards
- Easy start guide
- Instruction manual
- Warranty card
The designers at Nintendo sure are good at agonizing us with tough choices! Good thing Christmas is not far from now–perhaps we can pin our hopes on Santa! Zelda fans will have to wait a little longer, but perhaps they can use any Christmas money they get to buy their triforce-adorned 3DS LL, which arrives the very next day.
