Where did all the food go? BB-8 it all!
There was clearly one standout star from last December’s Star Wars: Episode VII, and it wasn’t John Boyega or Daisy Ridley. No, it was the lovable spherical droid, BB-8! Everyone wants to get their grubby little hands on one and, thanks to Hamme, we all get the chance to put the awesome droid in our fridges!
Back in April of last year, Hamme also created an R2-D2 version of a talking fridge droid that would greet you whenever you opened the door. This BB-8 version is all of that and more! Thanks to a light sensor, when you open the door, BB-8 will talk to you and turn his head back and forth. You can also set the little guy to remind you if you’ve left the door ajar. With a few beep boops and a whirl, you’ll think you are living in a galaxy far, far away!
Officially sanctioned by Lucasfilm, the BB-8 stands 11.4 centimeters (4.5 inches) tall and 5.5 centimeters (2.1 inches) wide and deep. Slap in 2 AAA batteries and you’ll hear his cheerful beeps for about three months.
You can pick up one of these adorable fridge gadgets for 4,500 yen (US$42) on Amazon Japan. Outside of Japan, you might have to search high and low for this guy (or use a reshipping service), but in the end, it turns out this is exactly the droid we’ve been looking for.
