It’s a good time to be an Eva fan in Japan right now. With Lotteria campaigns and Sega giveaways to coincide with the DVD and Blu-ray release of Evangelion 3.33, we’ve been running around town with some serious Eva fever. And the only cure… is more Eva!
Coming to the rescue is Schick, joining the tie-in celebrations with four different razor holder figurine sets, seven earphone jack accessories, and a chance to win an Eva clock. Plus, an animated interview with Gendo, to get his take on the razor series.
Appearing in anime shops and regular drug stores from April 25, there are four packs containing limited edition stand sets.
The Schick Hydro 5 sets come in two designs, Rei and Asuka (1,418 yen, US$14.46):
And the Schick Hydro 5 Power Select sets come in two designs, EVA-01 and Mark.06 (1,470 yen, US$14.99):
Individual razors and blade packs come with one of seven earphone jack accessories:
And if you collect three points from your purchases, you can go into the draw to win one of 2,000 limited edition clocks:
So what does Gendo think of the campaign? In the interview below, he says he uses the Schick Hydro 5 razor for his thick beard and sensitive skin. He was surprised by the smooth feeling after using the razor and he was pretty chuffed to receive a free earphone jack accessory with his purchase. But when the interviewer points out that there are Rei and Asuka figurine sets available, Gendo is shocked and ends the interview abruptly to go and get his hands on them.
Gendo, we know how you feel.
