The feeling of wanting to pick one’s nose is something that every boy and girl can relate to. Unfortunately, society frowns upon people who blatantly go on a booger hunt. In Japan, even blowing your nose in public can be considered bad manners! We’re not sure how sniffling up your snot for hours is better than dispelling it all in one go, but that’s beside the point.
Bandai has a brand new product to ease that natural urge. When your nose has an itch that you’re just twitching to pick, here’s a prosthetic nose that you can pick even in public!
Bandai calls their new line of noses Hajirerundesu, which translates simply to “You can pick it.” These synthetic rubber noses are scheduled to appear in capsule machines starting mid September at 200 yen (US$2.04) per randomized nose. Each one comes attached to a short, metal key chain, so you can carry it around and dig into its nostrils whenever you want, no matter where you go.
These portable noses come in four different shapes: the standard nose, the standoffish nose, the beautiful nose, and the idol nose. They also come in clear and flesh-colored varieties, with one rare secret style, identifiable by its unique snot-dripping silhouette. To make the experience of picking these noses most satisfying, developers have added a peculiar texture to each of the nostrils, making it much more fun to feel around inside. Plus, the clear versions make it possible to see the shape of your finger as you dig in deep!
In order promote this interesting new product, Bandai is running a special giveaway via their Facebook page! Ten lucky nose pickers who like the nosey lineup will be given a full nine-piece set of Hajirerundesu, plus a one-of-a-kind card using clever hanakotoba. This term usually refers to the “language of the flowers,” but thanks to a simple change of kanji symbols, means “language of the noses” instead.
So, for people who fancy the freedom to pick their nose whenever the feel like it without having to suffer any too much embarrassment from their friends, the Hajirerundesu is the perfect product! Next-up in the “You can pick it” series, how about a wonderful wedgie picker, for people who just can’t seem to keep their hands out of their cracks!?
