Sanrio began streaming the first animated short for its new character Gudetama on Monday. The anime aired with an accompanying game segment as part of the weekday family news program Asa Chan (Morning Chance), which debuted on TBS at 6:54 a.m.

In the video, Gudetama says “please leave me alone.”
Gudetama joined Sanrio‘s popular character line-up in 2013. Sanrio describes Gudetama as an egg that is dead to the world and completely lacks motivation. No matter what cooking method you use, Gudetama remains unmoved.
Asa Chan viewers can also participate in the “Gudetama Chance!” game. Viewers can use their remote controls to select the correct Gudetama card on the television screen and earn points. Those who collect at least 100 points between March 31 and April 11 can receive a special present.
Gudetama won second place in Sanrio‘s “Edible Character General Election” fan poll held last year. Kirimi-chan, an anthropomorphic salmon fillet, won first place.
