PlayStation TV, originally launched as PlayStation Vita TV in Japan, is coming to the US, Canada, and Europe this autumn, Sony has announced at E3.
The device allows players to stream gaming content to a television set not directly connected to a console, effectively making every TV in a person’s home a gameplay screen.
The original PlayStation Vita TV unit was launched in Japan in November last year. Unlike all of Sony’s other gaming hardware, however, the unit was not compatible with non-Japanese PlayStation Network accounts, something that gamers the world over who wanted to take their games from room to room bemoaned.
Sony has clearly been listening to its fans, however, as it was announced today during the company’s press conference that PlayStation TV would go on sale for US$99 this autumn. It will able to available as a bundle including a DualShock controller, an 8GB memory card, HDMI cable, and a game voucher for The Lego Movie Video Game, for $139.
