What would you put in a tiny miniature locker? That’s the question you’ll be asking if you get your hands on one of the newest gacha capsule toys, set to hit the market in April.
While most of us would have no use for a locker the size of a thumb, spare a thought for the anime figures of the world, who have spent years searching for a secure place to store their valuable accessories before setting out on their exciting adventures.
The only hurdle they’ll have to overcome now though, is finding a way to insert a coin that’s bigger than the size of their head.
The miniature lockers measure in at a tiny 3.5 cm (1.3 in) × 3.5 cm × 3.5 cm and will retail for 300 yen (US$2.53). They’ll be released in seven different colours – green, blue, yellow, light grey, grey, black and a secret design only revealed to the lucky few who get them.
Featuring true attention to detail, they even come with tiny stickers, with numbers ranging from 000 – 999, which are designed to be put on the locker doors. Once stacked in rows of four, the lockers look exactly like those at train stations and other public places. Their tiny size makes for realistic play-time and pose-time with figurines, which usually measure up to 12.5 cm (5 in).
Another impressive feature is the fact that the locker remains shut and can’t be opened until a 100 yen coin is inserted. With nothing else like it on the gacha capsule toy market, you don’t have to be a figurine owner to want one of these!
