Have you ever wanted to eat a super-cute, world-famous bunny? Now you can!
If you’ve perused the children’s section of a bookstore in the past 50 years, chances are you’ve met Miffy, the bunny storybook character created by Dutch artist Dick Bruna in the 1950’s. Since Miffy’s creation, the books have been translated into many different languages and are loved across the globe, including in Japan.
To celebrate this beloved character, The Guest, a cafe/diner located in Shibuya, is teaming up with the Miffy brand to bring a whimsical, kawaii dining experience to the masses. The cafe will feature special Miffy-themed food and beverages, Miffy table decorations, and even limited edition Miffy merchandise.
Let’s have a look at the goods that will be available at this Miffy-lover’s paradise:
▼ Miffy chicken curry set with a commemorative cup that you can take home
▼ A Miffy grilled pork sandwich with a… commemorative balloon? Sure, why not!
Who cares! Just look at those cute bunnies hiding in your sandwich!
▼ Here we have, uh, Miffy cheese pancakes with a hot dog?
Miffy, did you come up with this menu all by yourself?
▼ Miffy’s head as the bunny on a breaded chicken sandwich.
▼ Desserts abound with this Miffy ice cream pancake and sugar-dusted fruits.
If you didn’t get a cup with your main dish, now’s your last chance.
▼ There’s something a little unsettling about carrot mousse-Miffy watching you while you eat her face, but hey, if that’s what you’re into….
▼ Soft and fluffy chiffon cake Miffy head with her signature teddy bear
▼ A cute little Miffy popping out of her mango parfait rabbit hole.
▼ For an after meal pick-me-up, sip on an adorable Miffy hot latte.
▼ Or, if you prefer a cold drink, an iced Miffy latte that will watch you as you slowly consume it.
▼ And if that’s not enough Miffy for you,
everything comes served on a special edition placemat.
The Miffy cafe is a special event that Miffy fans definitely won’t want to miss. The Guest cafe also brought us the extremely popular Pokemon-themed cafe last year, so you can expect this to be another high-quality experience.
The Miffy cafe will be open from March 18 to May 9. Menu item prices range from 680 to 1380 yen (US$6 to $12). So if you’re a fan of cute things and tasty food, hop right on over!
