“Macho, Macho, Machochuuuuu!” just doesn’t have the same ring to it, though, does it?

Some days, it seems as if there are as many Pokémon as there are stars in the skies. Of course, this (probably) isn’t true, but there’s little question that collecting them all is no easy feat. Nevertheless, it seems there aren’t enough for fans, since there is a veritable cornucopia of unofficial, fan-created Pokémon, like “Gorichu,” a mash-up of Pikachu and Goriki (called “Machoke” in English).

▼ A horrifying mashup that looks like it could star in Guillermo del Toro’s next film.

This muscle-bound version of Pikachu, which we called “Machochu” in keeping with Machoke’s English name, obviously lacks anything coming close to an official figure. In fact, we have a feeling Nintendo would prefer we all just forget about this horrifying creature that looks like Conan the Barbarian wearing Pikachu’s head for a helmet.

So, of course, someone decided to make their own figure. “If they’re not going to sell one,” Twitter user @meetissai decided, “there’s nothing to be done but make one!”

▼ And that’s exactly what he did, documenting each step!

To create Machochu, @meetissai used clay to form the base, crafting it into a rough shape vaguely reminiscent of a bean with arms and legs.

Next, @meetissai covered the figure with Mori Mori, a putty popular with craftsworkers in Japan, and ground out some rough details.

▼ And made the iconic Pikachu ears!

▼ Even at this stage, it’s starting to look pretty good!

Then it was time to break out the utility knife to carve out Machochu’s ripped bod! I have to admit, this is the first time I’ve looked at a Pokémon and thought, “Jeez, I need to go to the gym more…”

▼ Getting some of the finer detail…

▼ And here’s fully formed figure, just waiting for some paint!

After some careful painting and finishing work, Machochu appears in its final form! Forget lightning bolts, this Pokémon can just beat its opponents back into their Pokéballs!

▼ “COME AT ME, BRO!”

As @meetassai explains in the tweet below, this was the first figure the Twitter user ever made. We can only assume he has some sort of craftswork experience, though, because we are impressed with the results!

Looking at the finished figure, we can’t help thinking Machochu would make an excellent addition to the next Smash Bros. game…

If you’re in the mood for more creepy, unofficial figures, we think you might enjoy this horrifying version of Licca-chan with her stomach on the outside.
